Garret- Don't know if this will help - but when I have resorted to using
Round up in tight quarters- I have either used a foam paintbrush to coat the
leaves of the offending plant-( when the chemical hits the soil it becomes
inert- it only works on the tissue of the plant-) or a piece of cardboard to
shield the good plant from the spray. If you are afraid of it touching the
other plants you can also try making a special "spray shield"out of a milk
jug-I use this in my flowerbeds a lot-- - cut the bottom out of the jug and
then make a window in the side that you can get your hand into and set the
jug over the plant or leaves of the plant you want to zap- spray into the
"window" and let it dry and you will not get the Roundup on any of your
other plants.
I like to be as organic as possible but have chosen to use Roundup for
Bermuda grass and Crabgrass and Sycamore trees that WONT go away without
help. Mulch may help for a lot of things but I feel ok using Roundup when I
need to.Good Luck- Kitty
