I have used it occasionally instead of vermiculite to loosen up clay soil
and to hold moisure- in potted plants- and in the ground-altho I find I
prefer the the vermiculite.I also use it to start seeds pr cuttings- mixed
with peat or alone- depends on my mood and what I happen to have on hand.It
floats and I don't like that. Just a matter of preference really- but one or
the other reallly does make a big difference in moisture retention and in
making a loamy soil- at least that's what I have found.I won't put anything
in large containers without one or the other anymore.-Kitty
