Re: Distance between beds

Clark,

Welcome to the list. The wonderful benefit of square foot gardening is you
can adjust the ph level of each bed for the plants you want to grow. I used
2 X 10's to build my raised beds and spaced them a "lawn mower" width apart.
That's 3 feet. But now I have added smaller 2 X 2 blocks for roses and
herbs, so now the weed whacker gets the job done. I like the 3 foot spacing,
I can wander around the blocks and work in them with out putting my back side
in a rose bush. I started by getting some graph paper and drawing out the
garden. I built a couple of blocks and set them in place before doing
anything, I rearranged them and then thought of the lawn mower. Once I got
the spacing, the rest was easy.

Use the perfect soil mix in Mel's book and you will have wonderful results.
