Yes it is.  The tomato hornworm is a big green caterpillar with a thorn-like
protusion from it's rear, so it's pretty easy to identify.  Mind you there
are several other "hornworms" which don't feed on tomatoes at all, but they are
coloured differently.  The tomato fruitworm is also large, can be light green,
pink, yellow or tan with white and dark stripes on the sides and lacks the
thorny protusion.

Hope you don't have either of these beasties!  ;-)  Up here in southern BC we
don't get many, if any of either.  One summer a few years back there was an
unusual weather pattern which brought a great flow of air from the deep south
into our area and a we got a few tomato fruitworms ... the moths, not hardy to
the north, had caught a ride on the wind.
