Pansies and petunias I would plant four to a sq. foot. My boss often plants all the pansies in a six pack in a clump together, and spaces them about 1 1/2 ft. apart at the front of his container gardens. Cleomes need LOTS of room--those suckers spread out! 1/sq. foot at the most--same as sunflowers, I guess. Can't help you with coreopsis.
