I picked my first 8, fully ripe, Pixie tomatoes today. These were from the potted plants which I reported earlier that I moved indoors each night, before the night time temperatures reached 55 deg F. The plants which were planted in the soil on the same date as the ones in the pots now have a few tomatoes, but are showing nothing but green yet. This beats my old record date for first ripe fruit by about a week, but we are having an unusually hot spring so far. I will surely enjoy saying goodbye to the Super Market, half ripe, tomatoes for the season. oldjohn@juno.com John Orwick El Monte, CA *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe, send to: listserv@umslvma.umsl.edu the body message: unsubscribe sqft See http://www.umsl.edu/~silvest/garden/sqft.html for archive, FAQ and more.
