Re: Results so far

We planted two squares of Thumbelina Carrots. They only get about two
inches long and on the first go about half of each square came up and are
doing well. We have replanted the empty spots and are waiting to see
what happens. Our one square of spinach (after being replanted twice due
to pests eating it) gave us 8/9 plants and we have harvested from it 3-4
times already. We used an organic spray called Concern (from Walmart).
It is good for about 20 pests and just about every plant (fruit,
vegetable or flower) imaginable. It lists what pests and what plants on
the back of the bottle. We originally tried Sevin Dust, which worked,
but made us uncomfortable since it isn't organic. Neem products were to
expensive for our tastes for such a small bottle. This is our first year
to garden and to use this method and so far it's working better than we
expected! Good luck with yours and don't give up hope. We had no
success with our lettuce either. The bugs carried it off to their
sacrificial altars and of two squares and 3 replantings we have one
lettuce plant that is about 4 inches tall at this point. We finally
decided that sacrificing lettuce to keep everything else was fine with
us.
