Tomatoes

I received some free cards from a company named "Gardening Made Easy"
wanting me to subscribe to their service.
One of the cards was about tomatoes and one of the tips on growing them
said the following;

"Pinch out the top of the plant once it has grown 4 flower bunches. Now the
plant can ripen its fruit instead of growing taller."

IS THIS A GOOD PRACTICE OR NOT?

It seems to me this would really limit the amount of tomatoes you get from
a planting.
