I built a beautiful cold frame similar to the one described in Bob Thompson's
The New Victory Garden (p 60-61), copyright 1987. Three nights ago it was
stolen from my garden, along with a number of my plants. Unfortunately the
temp went down to 38 degrees that night and the tomatoes and tomatilloes left
behind were scarred from the cold exposure. I have been mothering them like a
newborn baby.
I have read that once damaged like this, the plant rarely survives. They are
still growing well and new growth seems healthy. Will the damage from the
lower plant eventually take over the new growth? Or will the plant give in
to a virus because of its weakened state? Opinions, please.
Thank you,
Lorrie
