<< Does anyone know how to control sowbugs who have come to live under my << woodchips mulch? They are eating the plants the mulch is supposed to << protect...Don't really want to use pesticides. Any ideas?? << << Heidi in Central CA << Who got rid of her gopher but still has a few small problems! I've got them all over the place. I use a lot of compost and they are everywhere in the compost pile. But what I have noticed is that when I put the compost in the garden they continue to much on it instead of my plants. They munch on the plants every now and them but the damage is minimal. They like seedlings and newly sprouted seeds so if you see them curled around them pick them off. They like to hide in moist dark places durring the day. If you put a board on the ground they will hide under it. Just lift it up and kill them once a day. It won't get rid of all of them but it will limit their numbers. Hope this helps. Kurt McCullum (Glendale, CA Zone 9) It was 103 yesturday!
