Excuse me for jumping in here without a proper introduction,
but I'm curious about using 2-liter bottles to cover peppers.
Do you just cut off the top of the bottle and set it over the
pepper plant (pushing it into the soil a tad, I presume)?
This probably sounds pretty dumb, but do you cut any
holes for air circulation? This sounds like a good way
to protect my plants (also being tortured by the wind)
from the fluctuating temperatures of southern Michigan.
