I also pinch the suckers, and let the tomato plant climb up my vertical frame.
I only plant 4 plants, and have plenty for the family and I loose probably 25
pounds to the first killing frost.  I plant an early girl, a better boy (?), a
beefstake and something new, trying Roma Italian tomatoes this year.  I  also
plant at least two  cherry tomato plants too, my favorite.
