decorative plants

Most herbs are 'scraggly' in appearance, and when in full production,
really don't make nice ornamentals. But, the tiny globe Basil is
self-compacting and makes an interesting edible 'mini-hedge' around any
planting site. Each plant grows to about 6 - 8" in diameter and looks like
you've spent hours trimming them into perfect globe shapes. I think the
variety I'm thinking of is 'Piccolo'.
I also really like the creeping thymes in cracks and crevices, especially
some of the varigated ones. Pineapple sage will also cascade prettily in
front of a planting if you let it.
