I have a similar setup for my vertical crops. Yes, the inside ones do get
some shade but seem to do OK. I think they would be easier to maintain if
I didn't put vertical crops next to each other. This year I have tomatoes
in the front, an empty row for fall peas, a row of catelope, then a row of
cucumbers (all 4ft rows in the same square). I'm confident that the
cucumbers and tomatoes will get enough light but not sure about the
catelope. I've moved my gardens this year so won't know for sure till fall
how it works out.
