I take a lazy man's approach, myself, and build up my piles over the
summer, let them overwinter, and use them in spring. I built a
three-bin system using the wooden pallets that everything in the
world is shipped on. 10 pallets builds three bins. I used about ten
bucks worth of hardware (angle brackets, screws) to attach them
together. I built a two-bin system for my neighbor, as well. You can
usually find the pallets for free if you look around.
