Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Well, it would have worked if the Squash was some kind of normal squash!
I'm just not used to 16 ft of squash! They came in a package marked
"Compact"....
I have done squash on various supports for years. I found that the major
criteria is strength, followed closely by access.
Squash get heavy, and when the leaves are wet, they get -VERY- heavy. I use
6 ft 1x2s and buried 2 ft of them and that was barely enough. I ended up
using wire to hold them together in that little triangle shape

I also found that if I used regular trellis, the squash were always growing
on the most inconvenient side. That's why I went to poles, it lets the
leaves and flowers grow without squashing them(no pun intended), and I can
get to all sides of it.
