Help with my peppers please!

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

I have several varieties of peppers growing in
containers...ran out of room in my sq ft garden!

My problem is that they just don't look that great. Slow
growing, yellowing leaves, just plain puny looking!

I planted them in potting soil mixed with humus. I have fed
them 2-3 times with epsom salts (1 tbsp per gallon of water)
as advised from an earlier post. Yesterday I put some
earthworm castings around them and watered them very well.
It's been 80ish in the day and 60ish at night.

The ones in my garden are doing much better than the
container plants. My tomatoes are 4+ feet high and are
flowered, some have just started producing fruit. When I
compare the peppers to the tomatoes (and everything else I
have...peas, lettuce, beans, chard, broccoli) they are very
pale in comparison. Some are still only 5-6 inches tall!

Help anyone?!

Thanks
