Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Brian Scott asked about hydrangeas
and the square foot measure for planting them. I'm not sqfooting mine,
Brian, so I can't tell you, but here in Arkansas they get big enough to fill a
4X4 raised bed. To those who commented earlier on my plans to prune
hydrangeas and set out the prunings; my local nursery person says this time of
year you just pull off the leaves and stick the prunings in the ground and they
will take off (even without rooting stimulant). She also suggested I layer
a few plants for use next year in case some of the prunings don't come through
the winter. Will try both and let everyone know what worked best.
Much will depend on the heat this summer and the freeze next
winter.
