imagine a short hollow tube, just big enough to wrap around a tomato cage.
Imagine that the walls of this tube are made of very thick translucent plastic,
double walled and sealed lengthwise so that you can fill the spaces with water.
When you do, they stand up by themselves, and provide warmth and protection to
tender plants. They also let enough light through to provide most of the
plant's needs.
They are not cheap, I had to pay about $6.50 for three of 'em, but they
certainly do the job...and they last. I have some that are three years old and
still going strong.
