I hear ya! Similar thing happened to me last year--bad choices on my part. This
year I planted a mix of determinates and indeterminates and I was scrupulous in
selecting a balance of early, mid, and late varieties--thought I had everything
under control. But! Mother Nature turned crazy on us with too much rain, then a
sudden heat wave, followed by a drought and early season cool night temps. Result:
all my tomatoes all at once. The only variety that produced on time, correct
size, and in abundance was the 1 bush of Sweet Million cherry tomatoes that
volunteered from last year's crop next to my compost pile! Lesson: You can plan
well but ultimately you have to be satisfied with what the earth gives you.
