Hi folks...
My plan is to begin my first SQFT garden early in '98. I borrowed Mel's book
from our county library a few months ago and will be ordering one for myself
and a friend next week. Since I took the book back I don't have it for
immediate reference.
We have some questions regarding ways that listfolks have started/done
composting.
1. Will fallen leaves of all varieties work as compost?
2. Will grass cuttings work if mixed with leaves? Ratios? Mixing?
3. Should the compost pile be covered from precipiation or does moisture
help the process?
Sorry for the questions that I'm sure are in the book and I'll see with a
closer reading but we wanted to get something going in the next week. Before
all our many leaves blow away!
Any suggestions regarding compost size, turning rates, additives, garbage
etc. from you folks who have been doing it will be very much appreciated.
Thanks...much.
bernie and some friends...
