Has anyone tried old tires as planters...each tire providing a one-two square
foot area.  I am considering this because I think the blackness of the tire
will retain heat in my climate.  I am cautious because I wonder about the
chemicals leeching out into the soil.  Would one put cuts in the tops to open
up the surface area?  Could they be stacked?  If so how would they be
stabilized so as not to shift and disturb the roots?  Thank you.
