Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
I've always had much better luck than I anticipated separating
seedlings...perhaps because I always start the process with the assumption that
I'm about to kill at least one of them so anything short of that is a pleasant
surprise! I find that it helps to separate them when they're relatively
dry...the soil just falls away from the roots rather than binding them. And I
find I have better luck when I do it as early as possible...when the baby plants
only have one or two sets of full leaves. They seem to have practically
miraculous recuperative powers at that age...much like human babies!
