Does Roundup kill ivy? Better read the label. That's kind of a woody plant,
so Brush-B-Gone might work better (but read that label, too). Margaret L

The waxy coating on English Ivy makes it resistant to most pesticides. The
only way to get a decent kill with either roundup or brush killer is to cut
the ivy to the ground and then after the new shoots come up, spray the
juvenile growth before it has a chance to harden off and build up the waxy
coating.
Alternatively, you can cover the Ivy with a double layer of clear plastic,
bottom layer tighter than the top and allow the sunlight to heat the Ivy. This
will not only kill the Ivy but also sterilize any weed seeds in the soil. Not
only is it more effective than sprays, but it also has the advantage of using
no chemicals and you can replant immediately.
