Roundup killed my English ivy at our country house just fine.
Although the active ingredients in Roundup have low dermal toxicity (making
skin contact not very dangerous) and residues left on nearby soil in the
presence of sunlight break down in less than 1 week, I believe I recall
that their toxicity to aquatic invertebrates is fairly high.
So if you would be spraying near a stream or where runoff following an
inconveniently quick rainstorm would get to a body of fresh or salt water,
don't use Roundup.
