fall clean up

It saddens me to read about the gadens in the south. We had such bad weather in
 spring and it
took the gardens for ever to get going. Now it is time to cleanup. It breaks
 my heart to pull
out plants. Even though our weather is warm today, cool and rain and even snow
 can come tomarrow.
The best crop I had was the Rhubarb, because it never got to warm. We had pies
 and cakes with it
weekly. Now all I have left is a few yellow cherry tomatos and lettuce and
 radishes. I did have
one unexpected surprise in the garden, a punkin vine. Every year I plant and
 only once in 10 years
did I get a pumkin, this year I have 3 punkins and did not plant it. Thank
 goodness for
composting. The seeds must of come from last years pumkin.
I wish all the south gardeners well with their gardens. Now I know why people
 retire to the south
Marie
