That's a toughie! How big is 'big' and how small is 'small'?
I've heard garden writers declare that a few stones are good for the
soil as a source of minerals over the years.
Maybe some of the gardeners from the rock ribbed coast of Maine will
log in on this.
Also, we don't know the size of the garden and if the rocks are
competing for needed space.
If you will look about you, you will see that plants are growing beside
rocks everywhere .. so it is mainly a question of your personal
convenience. How do you plan to cultivate the ground? I hate it when
stones lodge in the discs of my mantis cultivator.
And of course, a few vegies (carrots for instance) do much better if
they aren't dodging rocks on the way down.
