Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
We are making an attempt at our first, school fall garden. Lettuce failed
in miserable 90 degrees. Radishes are plumping up. Kids don't love to eat
them, but they sure like planting and harvesting them. Good compost
material maybe. Some spinach is up and more recently planted lettuce is
trying. My fifth graders have a broccoli bed that they plan to eat! The
okra is still producing and a third grade teacher fried some at school last
Friday. It was great!
Got to get some onions or scallions or whatver grows. Also got some collard
seedlings. Don't think we love them, but going to try. Are carrots
appropriate now?
Some of the nippy ants have relocated (it appears) after we pulled out some
tomatoes and muskmelons that were past their prime. Others have taken up
residence in the strawberries. So far, we are still in the 80's during the
day. THe little rain from George was very welcome!
So what are you planting?
