This question is answered in "Square Foot Gardening" by Mel
Bartholmew. See pages 156-158. This discussion forum mostly
flows from that book.
But, to answer the question partially: Lettuce seeds take 49 days
to germinate at 32 degs, 14 days at 41, 7 days at 50, 4 at 59.
Almost all the seeds will germinate at these temps. However,
at 86 degs only 12% of the seeds will germinate, and at 95 none
will.
