Carrots grow well in the cooler weather. I'm not sure they would
germinate where it's warm. Beans should be ok though. Corn should
grow well, but I bet that your crows may be eating them. I planted
beats last year and continually found birds in the gardens after
they sprouted. Needless to say, they disappeared quickly. Not sure
why birds would eat them, but the ones in my yard did last year.
Now I am putting fences around all my gardens to keep our large
dog out of them. It will also help ( I hope ) keep the squirrels out.
Birds will still have access though.
