Welcome from another NZer.
Where are you located?
I grow strawberries at about 1 ft spacing but only have a single row. I
would guess if you keep runners under control, a whole bed at 1 ft spacing
would be fine.
I am sure others here will be of more help to you. Over on the OGList there
is a NZ commercial berry grower who might be able to help you out with
regional questions. Let me know if you want info on subscribing to that
group.
