In my experience, ripening will slow or stop. Small tomatoes will have a
better chance of ripening than big ones. I suggest taking them off their
supports (if possible), and covering them with 4-mil plastic. (The Book
illustrates the procedure.) What i used to do is remove the top bar of the
frame, leaving the netting intact. Then when the weather warmed up again, i
could reassemble the frame!

The books all say to store them in the dark. I believe i read in this list
that if a light green star forms on top of the tomato, it will eventually
ripen. Now that i live in the tropics, it's unlikely that i'll test this out.
