Re: Barrel planters

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Hi,

Strawberry jars, usually ceramic, have been around forever. The holes
in the sides sometimes have slight cups beneath each one. My daughter
bought one last year but put herbs in hers since the tall urn didn't
take as much watering because she was away a lot. It worked
beautifully. Selecting the right plant habit for the
location---sprawling, upright, etc.---is the important thing for an
artistic arrangement.
