I've never had good success ripening green tomatoes.  However, I 
have developed a taste for fried green tomatoes.  

Actually, we don't fry ours.  We bake them.  Batter both sides of 
the tomato, spray with veg. oil spray (like PAM), and bake until 
golden brown.
