Patti, do you store only green T's that way or red ones too? Sounds
wonderfully simple. Do you put the box directly on the basement floor? Does
the box have a lid you close? Thanx!!

I put the box on a table - I have a concrete floor, and I think it may be
too cold to put directly on the floor. If you have tile, however, I imagine
it would be safe. It should also out of direct sunlight.

Any tomatoes with any "hint" of pink will ripen. If they are totally green,
however, your chances of them ripening that way are iffy. You're better off
making either fried green tomatoes, or relish, or even green tomato salsa.
(I'll be posting salsa recipe on my home page, as soon as I get it
uploaded!)

I do not cover the tomatoes. My personal belief is that they need to
breathe - I don't know if it's true or not, but it works for me!

Hope this helps!

Peace,

Patti
