Better a little less ripe tomato than no tomato at all, Peg.
When I went away for a week last month, I told my neighbor he could pick any
ripe tomato. Better for him to have them than to let them go to waste. I have
been back 6 weeks already and he hasn't stopped helping himself.
One morning one cabbage had been cut off. That morning I removed most of the
other cabbages and they are sitting now in the fridge. Later on he told me he
had taken it to make cole slaw.
Yesterday, my last Giant Belgium tomato, that I had left on the vine to save the
seeds, disappeared. Now I may have to buy the seeds.
I know the feeling, Peg. Grab them while you have them.
Fran.
