Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
One thing that worked for me was to put wood ashes on the ant hills. I
know this is almost impossible to do in the summer though, unless you
have saved wood ashes from your fireplace over the winter. Another thing
that seemed pretty good was to do the boric acid thing. I found this on
another list, since the topic of ants seems to be a large one. It said
to make a solution of sugar water ( can't remember the measurements, but
I can look them up). Add boric acid to it and stir. Leave out for a few
days so that the ants can take this stuff back to their home. The queen
needs to eat it, because unless she dies, the ants will still be there.
A long time ago, I tried using boiling water on the ant hills. Didn't
work for me, and it ended up killing the plants that were in that area.
Hope this helps.
