Hi all,

As the summer gardening season winds down I am very pleased overall with my 
first square foot garden experience, especially since I got a late start in a 
new raised bed with unimproved soil.  I want to thank all who have 
contributed to the list as it has been a great learning experience for me!  
As most of us could say, I have had some successes and some disappointments.  
I was totally unsuccessful with my zucchinni, yellow squash, and cucumber 
plants...either no fruit or small shriveled fruit, then leaves that turned 
yellow and died (powdery mildew plus possibly some other problem?).  Even the 
pumpkin plants which started out so well have already met the same fate.  Any 
thoughts about this, or suggestions about what I can do differently next 
year?
