Re: Sambuca in Guest Bed

Yes, Sambuca is a Johnson 2001.  Found it thumbing through their catalog yesterday.  They are charging $30 for it, but if you buy $100 worth of iris, you only pay $50, which makes the order 50% off, and therefore Sambuca will cost only $15.  I was toying around with buying THREE...lol
 
Sambuca REALLY IS that black.  As I said, it is the blackest iris I have ever seen in person.  The photo does not do it justice either.  The growth habit so far is EXCELLENT!  It doesn't fade in our hot sun.
 
The person you can contact for more information on how it is growing in her yard is Joyce Poling at S*@AOL.com  She is a member of iris photos and has taken photos of all the guests in her garden that have bloomed so far this year.

Blackest iris I have every seen in the Phoenix area - and it doesn't fade!!!!  Today was in the 90's. 
 
Here is a picture I took in one of the R15 Spring Trek 2003 guest beds owned by Joyce and Avery Poling in Sun City, Arizona. Blooming today.
