thingamajig on style arm

This will probably answer Francelle's question on the signal/beard of the 
seedling I like, but I was wondering if that little growth thingamabob on 
the end of the style arm has a name?  Nearly every bloom of this has that 
feature and it sure gets in the way when you're trying to daub pollen.
