I am so sorry for you!  That has got to hurt.  With the new blooms that came out today the damaged ones did not look so bad.  You sure summed it up!  They look like tissue paper.  It was weird, we did not have frost for at least 2 months and then my dad planted his tomatoes!!  At least you have a good outlook!  The bus and weeds part!  By the way, what kind of weeds did the frost damage?  I hope that your damaged blooms appear better tomorrow!

Just came in from the fields....open flowers are all melting and look like wet tissue paper.  Buds coming look OK, at least most of them.  will have to wait and see over the next couple of days, maybe the bloom will still be OK.  Seed pods look fine.  One side benefit, a lot of bugs and certain weeds have died :-)  Got down to 30 here, just in time for Barry Blyth's visit.

Oh Mike, I hope that it wasn't bad.  We had frost night before last.  We went out last night to get some cut ris very early yesterday morning for church.  The iris looked like the reblommers look here in late Oct. after they get hit by frost.  It looked like the iris that were damaged here were the open blooms and the beds sheltered by the barn were fine.  Good Luck and keep us posted.  Same here, we are above Sacramento and were have never been hit by frost this last in the year.

Well....so much for global warming.  Peak bloom has been inching later and later every year, this year it we are just approaching it and we had a freeze last night.....never before in our history have we even been close to freezing during TB bloom.  Fortunately it wasn't a hard freeze but it was quite frosty this morning.  Will have to asses the damage after sunrise....
