Thank you,
I wondered how that worked.
What started out as a fun thing with "Fan, Fancier and Fanatic" over the chat room turned into a copyrighted slide show with our comments (if my understanding is correct on the version I saw at convention.) I just didn't realize you could copyright something like that. So, I'm not sure if my comment that I shared over the internet is now the property of AIS unless I copyrighted it.
Anyway, just didn't know how all these things work or are suppose to work. And certainly no big deal w the fun we had in sharing what we all thought a "fanatic of iris is or was." with the Lady from New Mexico that came up with the idea -or at least I think it was her idea. So glad it's into a slide show that all can enjoy. I certainly had lots of laughs as this was being shared and created.
And again, my hat is off to those of you that are working to provide us w programs that are easy to use in our meetings.
This discussion probably should have been over on hort.net but to follow the thread it started on iris photos. So sorry about that John. Not sure proper procedure for that either.

The pictures are owned by the photographer and that person gives us permission to use in the AIS Irises Resources-Slides and Digital Programs.
The Copyright wording we use on the CDs (per our long discussion with Bob Plank, AIS Legal Counsel) based on the legal "fair use doctrine" is as follows:
â?¢ COPYRIGHT
â?¢ We appreciate the permission to use the images shown in this presentation.
â?¢ Images cannot be sold or published or used for any and all commercial purposes without obtaining written permission from the legal copyright holder (usually the photographer).

Rita,
Will these photos be copyrighted under AIS and if so, does that mean any photo we spend you becomes the property of AIS only?

Janet Smith and I are working diligently to prepare the 2007 and 2008 Intros for distribution by the AIS Slides/CD program. There are certain noteworthy hybridizers that we do not have good pictures from and are looking for high res digitals so if we choose to make some into real slides, we'll be able to. The pictures posted on websites which we have permission to use are too low res to use for slides.
So we need pics of 2007 and 2008 intros from Tom Burseen. Vince Christopherson, Keith Keppel, Jim Hedgecock, Joe Ghio, and Winterberry (Spoons and their stable of hybridizers )
We're trying to get the 2007 sets ready by summer! Please send to me off-line so as not to clog the list with high res pics. gormleygreenery@aol.com
Thanks!
