Remember that when you look at the size in the program that you are using to resize the photo, it will be larger than the compressed size when saved as a jpg. I takes a little practice but you don't have to be exact.

When I looked at Betty's picture in Photoshop it was 58 KB or so but only 44KB when stored on my hard drive as a jpg.

Just downsized my first photo using Photoshop Elements. Only took
about 1/2 hour to read directions and do it the first time. It is so
