Thanks!! Not having grown MDB before, now I see a reason I should study them a bit!! I took a few more photos today. One with a ruler beside the entire plant so it would be possible to check the height. I also removed a petal so the beards and veining at the base could be seen.
As far as I can tell, I only have two different cultivars in the group with all being this yellow except one. I copied a pic of it, too. It is apx. the same height as the yellow and looks like 'Eye of Newt' to me???
Thanks for your help. I have always had just a few irises that my Dad bought for me and grew them until he felt like I was in a more permanent place.
After disability retiring, gardening has become something that is important to me and is great mental (and physical) therapy. I moved my irises from my Dad's in 1998 and he is now 87. I now have 200+ named irises and almost as many NOID historics that I expect that I can identify when they bloom, well, maybe at least some of them!! LOL
I keep learning as much as I can...now I have learned something new.

Definatly an SDB, not an MDB. Both height and bud count say SDB.
But not able to ID it.

I have several of these and this is the first time they have bloomed. They bloomed over this past week and are a very pretty bright yellow. If anyone can help with their ID, please do. If additional pictures or info would help, let me know.
Thank you,
