{Disarmed} Re: Sea Power

Beth  --  SEA POWER was planted here a year ago in July.  It did not bloom this spring, but has two increases and looks healthy.  As to cutting back leaves, I wouldn't do so unless they are really unsightly or diseased.  The leaves provide nutrition.   In fact, in this region some growers bring newly-dug rhizomes to sales with the full fans attached untrimmed, and they are then planted that way immediately.   I follow this practice.  --  Griff

Does anyone have this in their garden ??

I planted it yesterday and am worried about how vigorous it will be (I find that many of the ones I find most beautiful are fussy growers while others are like weeds).

OH - and another cultivation question.  I have always cut back the leaves just about now (along with all the other perrenials that are browning back) , but was told last year not to do that..... what are your thoughts about this??
