This type of pattern can appear on MAIDEN bloom only---in my experience. ÂThis means--the first bloom of a seedling. ÂI've had some gorgeous things happen in this stage, including impossible patterns, but know to enjoy as it won't be the same in following years. Â

Hello,

A lady wrote to Prescott Area Iris Society and they forwarded it to me.

Several years ago on the campus of Fresno State University in their iris garden I saw one with a checkerboard pattern in a soft brown and white.

I never hear Dr. Weiler speak of such an iris pattern not even in his seedlings. ÂUnfortunately the irises are long gone at Fresno State.

Anyone know of such an iris????
