Re: HYB: William Mohr Giant--an amphidiploid?

Whatever else can be said of William Mohr Giant, it was certainly in
distribution. In addition to the Muhlestein and Austin catalogs, it
was offered in "The Court of Iris" catlog in 1957:

WILLIAM MOHR, Giant ( Mohr-Mitchell '25 )$2.25
     ( Parisiana X gatesi )
This is a larger form of the famous Wm. Mohr
which is also more potent in breeding. A bright
lavender with a red-violet network.

I guess my question would be if some of the descendants credited to
WM. MOHR may in fact have stemmed from the 'Giant' and that addition
was simply ignored in the registration information.
