HYB: blue beards in one cross

  • Subject: [PHOTO] [iris-photos] HYB: blue beards in one cross
  • From: "Neil A Mogensen" <neilm@charter.net>

In response to an exchange with Betty W. I am posting three siblings from the cross R 19: POWER WOMAN X FOGBOUND, Power Woman being from (Swingtown X Romantic Evening) and having a deep blue-purple beard.
Please be aware these photos were taken the morning after high wind, hail and a driving rain snapped many stalks, broke and bruised foliage and put holes through opening buds.  These blossoms may not have been fully expanded at the time of the photograph.
R 19-1, least blue in beard:
R 19-0  (actual number temporarily displaced), deeper blue beard:
R 19-00 (also number displaced), deepest blue in beard in those that bloomed:
The progression is typical of many crosses, I would expect.
