Robin, See you ALSO grow Iris in Pots. Getting pretty feeble at age 75, OC grows a lot of his on his back deck in pots (still has some in the yard). OC  did this as a trial several years ago with both Iris and Liliums. Terrific success. Allows him to go out on his walker and take pictures very easily.
