There must be pigment, perhaps of a different kind. Have seen
the same sort of edge on some daylilies. Looking closely, it
doesn't look like a yellow color with diamond dusting. More of
a metal-flake appearance.
So far, 16 seedlings in the sunroom from Prince George X Designer
Gown. Interesting that the registration descriptions of these 2
don't mention the edge at all. Maybe only shows up in certain
climates or with certain micronutrients or ph.
Sutton's have one called Spike that apparently makes little calcium
deposits on the blooms. Maybe a related thing.
Who knows? We need a chemist in May.
